I had the pleasure to work with Mike when I first joined the Post Office in 1994 and also with the Iowa Air National Guard. He was always a great person to talk to, with a positive outlook on everything. He will be missed.

I first met Michael was during the time I was a member of a security escort at the Des Moines Airport on the National Guard side for the 132nd Fighter Wing. This was a little over a moth later after the infamous attack and destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept 11th 2001.
Throughout the next four and a half months, Mike and I became good friends. Both of us were formal Marines who have served at different periods in time. Both of us shared similar political views and same faith in God. He later introduced me to his wife, Winnie and his two daughters Attalie and Shaeyla. He later invited to attend his church, Crossroads Fellowship Christian Reformed Church. This was a time where the church just recently moved from its previous location to its present location where the church currently stands.
For nearly twenty years since I met Mike and his family, he has become a dear friend, a mentor, and a role model for everyone who has known him. He is the best friend I have ever had. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Winnie, Attalie, and Shaeyla. God bless him and all of you.
