Cara Dawn Gethmann

Cara Dawn Gethmann, 32, of Des Moines, died tragically on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

She was born July 23, 1988, in Marshalltown, Iowa, daughter of Cornell and Cathy Chatterton
Gethmann. Cara graduated from Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School in 2006 before attending Waldorf College. While in high school, she was active in 4-H, golf team, and was a House Page in the Iowa Capitol her senior year. She was a member of the Gladbrook United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She later made her home in Des Moines.

Left to mourn her passing are her parents, grandmother Sylvia Chatterton Blaesing and uncle
Reed (Sandy) Gethmann. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Ivan and Lorraine
Gethmann, Dale Chatterton, step-grandmother, Luella Chatterton, and step-grandfather, Jerry
Blaesing.

Private family burial services will be held at a later date.
