Michael Waters, 72, passed away on May 26, 2021. He was born August 11, 1948 in Des Moines to Gene and Lillian (Koppes) Waters.
Michael received his Master’s in Theology and was a Pastor for over 30 years serving at Sovereign Grace Church. He also worked at DMACC in the Apprentice Program. He loved to travel with Ardeda, especially to Ireland. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity and his enthusiasm for the word of God.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ardeda; son, James Waters; grandchildren, Michael and Taylor Waters; great-granddaughter, Olivia Waters; siblings, Joanne O’Keefe, Barbara Evatt and Ronald (Bonnie) Jackovich; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle; grandson, Skyler; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines with a time of fellowship to follow.

Dear sister in Christ, Ardeda,
Just last night (July 5) I heard of brother Water's passing away.
I want to express my love and prayers for you and wish you God's gracious comfort and peace.
1Peter 5:10-11 may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
