William "Bill" Davis
May 23, 2021
William “Bill” Davis, 72, passed away at his home on May 23, 2021. He was born December 13, 1948, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Lester and Wyanita Davis.
Bill was a stubborn man with a gypsy soul and had a unique sense of humor. He was always freshly dressed and clean cut. Bill was a proud, hardworking man and a devout Christian. When he loved he loved hard. Bill could never sit still. He loved cleaning and painting. Bill was unaware that the room lit up when he walked in. He loved taking walks and never turned down a tussle with his nieces and nephews.
Nobody is perfect, but to his family, Bill was. He made sure their childhoods were full of fun and adventure. Everything from late night walks to late night story telling in the garage and listening to his song, “Hotel California”.
Bill is survived by his children, Jerry (Missy) Davis and Tracey Benton; grandchildren, Trenton (Paige), Melissa, Travis, Michael and Ryan; great-grandchildren; siblings, Chuck (Nancy) and Carol Lamb; special niece, Terry Braack; and many extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Audrey and Patty; brother, Mike; and his step-son, Ricky Benton.
Services are pending.
