Dale W. Austin, Sr.

Dale Willard Austin, Sr., age 63, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Home in Indianola.

Dale was born May 21, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. He joined Job Corps right after high school, then enlisted in the U. S. Army. He served as a telephone lineman in the Army before being medically discharged in 1975. Dale loved fishing, camping, and was a big kid at heart. He played the harmonica, enjoyed drawing, and loved music.

He is survived by his son, Dale Austin, Jr. (Brooke); daughter, Shanen Stone (Adam); nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation will occur. There will be a committal ceremony with military honors at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, IA 50003 on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
