Shirley Darlene Morris Rosendahl

Shirley Morris Rosendahl went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2021. She was born and raised in Warren County, Iowa, the youngest of nine children.

She graduated from Indianola High School in 1948 and immediately went to work for Law firm Henderson Wilson and Wilson in Indianola. She later worked for the Warren County Treasurer’s Office. In 1951, she married Gene Rosendahl, her husband of 68 years.

Shirley loved playing the piano, dancing, sewing, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was an exemplary wife and mother.

She is survived by her children, Dana (Laurie) Rosendahl, Gary Rosendahl, Sheri (Mike Galvin) Miller, Kevin (Lavon) Rosendahl, and Cindi (Paul) Thurmond; six grandchildren, Gretchen (Jason) Hays, Nathan Rosendahl, Ryan (Nicole) Miller, Shanna (Matt Quinnett) Miller, Anji (Jimmy) Wormuth and Rachel (Ira) Edmiston; nine great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lucile Morris; eight siblings and her husband, Gene Rosendahl.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, starting at 10 a.m. with a celebration of life service to begin at 11 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
