Service Details

Bonny June Jacobs Albright, 84, was called Home by her Savior on May 14, 2021. Bonny was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the third of four children, to Gilbert and Lauretta Jacobs. She lived her entire life in the Des Moines area, including 16 years in Saylorville, 37 years in Polk City, and for the past six years she lived at the Polk City Manor and recently at The Bridges care facility in Ankeny.

Bonny’s life was dedicated to being a wife, mother, and grandmother; to six children, 15 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” This was our mother.

In the last six years, Bonny suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, which was painful to witness, but through it all, the Lord gave the strength needed for the journey, and we shared the love He gave us, all because He first loved us.

So often we heard Mother say, “I just want to go home.” Hallelujah, prayers have been answered; Jesus has walked Mother Home.

Bonny is survived by her children, David Albright (Nona) of Des Moines, Debra Williams (John) of Prairie Village, KS, Rob Albright (Tammy) of Alleman, Mark Albright (Denise) of Ankeny, and Kris McGee (Hiram) of Lancaster, OH; her sister, Janet Obradovich (Lou) of Indian Wells, CA; sisters in law, Nancy Jacobs of Medina, OH, Riva Jacobs of Raytown, MO, and Jeri Fontanini of Des Moines; brother in law, Skip Albright (Elnora) of Saylorville ; 15 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her son, Brian; her parents Gilbert and Lauretta Jacobs; her brothers, Jack and Jim Jacobs; and parents in law, Paul and Floretta Albright.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Baptist Church in loving memory of Bonny.
