Virginia L. Carlson

Virginia Lorraine Carlson, 96, passed away peacefully Friday, May 14, 2021.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021. Burial will follow at Stuart Cemetery in Adelphi, Iowa.

Virginia was born April 29, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa to David and Hannah Howard. She was a graduate of East High School in Des Moines in 1942. She worked as a secretary for Iowa Department of Human Services for ten years and Bankers Life for ten years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Church.

She is survived by her four grandsons, Jason Brose (Christine), Adam Brose (Leslie), Michael Bunn (Corrine) and David Bunn; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Carlson; daughter, Lynda Bunn; and her parents.
