Joyce Faulkner Williams

Joyce Williams, age 50, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Joyce was born May 14, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois to Tyrone Lewis and Emma Faulkner. She was a strong woman who fought valiantly against cancer for eight years.

Joyce attended school at Dyett Middle School and DuSable High School in Chicago Illinois. She was a Baptist and received the Lord as her Savior at Mount Olive Baptist Church under the late Rev. C Burns. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, and having cookouts. While her family were all Bears fans, Joyce was the biggest Green Bay Packer’s fan. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Williams; children, Bryant Lynch, Byron Lynch, Dianne Herron, Ieisha Herron, Larry Green, DeAndre Beckwith, and Courtney Faulkner; step-daughter, Belinda Williams; step-son, Anthony Henry; brothers, Robert (Lorraine) Faulkner, David Lewis, and Ronnie (Dee-Dee) Faulkner; sisters, Linda Thornton, LaChrisha (Amos) Pittman; brother-in-law, Donald (Angela) Williams; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Lois Faulkner and Tyrone Flenard Lewis; brother, Randy Faulkner; brother-in-law, Derry Lee Thornton; mother-in-law, Hazel Williams; and an infant daughter, Kimber Ashley Williams.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
