Linda Newton

Linda Marie Newton, 73, passed away on May 11, 2021, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born in Champaign, IL on April 17, 1948, the daughter of Robert and Margaret Taylor.

Linda worked for UnityPoint and retired from the medical records department. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her cats, and her dogs.

Linda is survived by her husband, Stephen Newton; son, Michael Newton; daughter, Cathy Newton; grandchildren, Brittni Newton, Justin Newton, Amanda Alsager, Dylon Clark, and Evan Bower; sister, Barbara Mylan; niece, Faith Martin, and her nephew, Bill Howard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Newton and daughter, Lisa Newton.

A memorial visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or Easter Seals in loving memory of Linda.
