Ione M. (Ullestad) Patrick

Ione (Ullestad) Patrick was born to Lewis and Anna Ullestad, January 20, 1927 in Radcliffe, Iowa. When she was 9 years old, her parents moved to a farm near Story City. She went to country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Ames High School in 1945. In 1960, she moved to Des Moines to work as a secretary in the office of the Iowa District Council of the Assemblies of God. Ione was a member of Berean Assembly of God for many years and later attended New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale. She was wed to Charles Patrick in 1977 for 36 happy years.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2014; sister, Marian (James) Shaw; brother, Reverend Allan Ullestad; niece, Jacque Nissen; and great-niece, Sharemi Ullestad.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Ellen Marchette (Gino); sister-in-law, Georgene Ullestad; nephews, Merwin (Crystal) Ullestad, Kevin (Linn) Ullestad, and Randy (Tammy) Shaw; niece, Sharolynn Ullestad; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 12, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 13, 2021 at Berean Church, 5299 E. University Ave, Pleasant Hill with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
