Julie Anne Klisares

Heaven just gained the sweetest girl on earth. Julie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Julie was born on November 9, 1961 in Des Moines to Bob and Rosalee Klisares. She attended school in Des Moines and graduated from Ruby Van Meter in 1983. Following graduation, she resided at The Homestead Living and Learning Center, now Balance Autism in Pleasant Hill.

Julie enjoyed the simple things in life, her favorites were spending time at home with mom, drawing and working on puzzles and watching her favorite TV shows; Little House on the Prairie and The Brady Bunch. She loved family gatherings and holidays with her siblings, nieces and nephews, where she was well known for polishing off anyone’s half empty beer or glass of wine. When Julie was asked who her favorite sibling was, her answer was always the one who was doing the asking. It was never in question who the family’s favorite was….Because it was always JULIE. She has always been the angel that blessed our family.

She will be greatly missed by her mother, Rosalee Klisares; brothers, Michael (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Becky) and Kevin; sisters Kathy Klisares and Jennifer O’Hara (Brad); many nieces and nephews and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Klisares.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and nurse at House 3 for their care and support of Julie.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Klisares Family Scholarship at Simpson College or Balance Autism.
