Kristy Suzanne Hyde
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Kristy Hyde, age 47, was born the daughter of John and Becky (Venosky) McNew on January 22, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa. Kristy passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Kristy always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of at all times. She was incredibly crafty and always wanted to give gifts from the heart. Her house always had an open door – welcoming everyone at all times. She had a fiery personality, full of wit and fun! She loved her grandkids with a passion. Her family was everything, and would be there for them no matter what. Kristy was a hard worker and enjoyed working at Boesen the Florist.
She enjoyed photography, she had photos of everything, and was known as “Granny Flash”. Kristy especially loved to bake with her grandkids, and ice cream dessert at Christmas! She will be remembered most for having the BIGGEST heart and being “Qurky”. Kristy will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jason; children, Kailee (Chris) Smith, Kami Jo Cardines, miracle twins, Jacob and Kendra (Dillon Jorgensen) Cardines, Jonathan Hyde, and Tristan Hyde; grandchildren, RyLynn, Keighlynn, Greighson, Adalynn, and baby girl on the way; siblings, John Paul “J.P.” (Heather) McNew and Frank (Randie) McNew; mother, Becky McNew; father of her children, John Cardines; lifelong sister friend, Fata Sapcanin; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
Kristy was preceded in death by her dad, John McNew; mom partner, Deb Cardines; brother, Jimmy Dean “J.D.” Moore; infant niece, Korie McNew; all of her grandparents, including her beloved “Granny”.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service to begin at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Kristy.

To Kristys family, my very very sincere condolences. I live in the Momterey Peninsula of CALIF. I have known her for probably 20 years. As fine a lady as Ive ever met. I flew out to Des Moines back in 2008 and met & had dinner with her. It was wonderful & memorable. She was as talented & knowledgeable person in the flower business. Proud of her relationship with the BOESEN brothers. It broke my heart when I heard of her death. She will always be in my heart. Please once again accept my personal condolences

My condolences to the family having to endure this heartbreaking loss. I remember Kristy as a super loving, kind, and talented woman who was beautiful inside and out! I looked up to her as a mother! The love she had for her kids and grandkids was easily seen. I still remember all the pictures she proudly displayed of her loved ones in her living room.
When my Mother was sick, Kristy and my Uncle welcomed her, my daughter, and myself into their home with open arms, ready to help in any way possible. I was so thankful for that comfort! When my Mom passed away, Kristy was there along with my Uncle showing so much love and support. I don't think they ever knew how much that meant to me.
I'm so sorry this happened Uncle Jason. I'm so sorry to her beautiful children and grandchildren. I pray our Heavenly Father comforts your souls during this very devastating time. ❤

My Gracie!! I don't even know where to begin!! My heart is broken!! You've meant soo very much to me throughout the years. We were "Will and Grace" doing coffee shots and smoking Black n Milds to entering recovery together, getting married around the same time, working a couple jobs together. I watched your kids grow up. I watched you take on your greatest role ever of becoming a Granny!!! Your family meant everything to you!! We didn't get the chance to say sorry but I know you and I always loved each other. I am going to do my best to continue to watch your babies and grandbabies grow. Just know you're FOREVER MY GRACIE and I LOVE YOU.
Becky, JP, Frank, Kailee, Kami, Kendra and Jake - Each of you are in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers. May our God wrap His arms around you all and provide strength to get through these next few days, weeks and months ahead. I pray for peace knowing our Kristy felt nothing but immediate love and light, not to mention finally seeing her dad and granny. I love you all. My deepest heart broken sympathies. Jody aka Will
