Jerry Grant Coles II
May 04, 2021
Jerry Grant Coles II aka “Big Daddy Woo Woo”, passed away suddenly on May 4, 2021 doing what he loved the most. He was born February 14, 1970 in Des Moines to Jerry and Laurie (Nicholson) Coles, Sr.
Jerry enjoyed collecting clocks and was a world class tinkerer. His greatest passion was riding his motorcycle and his greatest joy was being a father. Jerry was a member of Laborer’s Local 177. He was an animal lover, great cook, and could throw down in the kitchen with the best of them. Although he had a tough exterior, he had the biggest heart of anyone you could hope to meet. He will be missed dearly and his memory will live on through the lives he touched.
He is survived by his children, Kamie, Conner, Caleb and Kayla; grandchildren, Isaiah, Nazik, Nazirah, Kamilah and one on the way; father, Jerry (Laura) Coles, Sr.; sister, Stacey (Eugene) Behles; and many relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Laurie Nicholson Coles; and the mothers of his children, Katherine Corrigan (Kamie) and Karrie Davis (Conner, Caleb and Kayla) .
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

You are truly one of gods gifts to this world, you have put your mark and name on a lot of places and things in
Your lifetime.you definitely have touched many, many hearts in all kinds of ways and you were taken way to soon for something that only God can answer.
We have been good friends since we were kid's and I miss you and it's definitely going to be different not having you and your smart ass around, but I will always have all the memories that. Weve shared both good and bad.your one of a kind and I hope that rest easy
Knowing that you raised three wonderful kids that you can be proud of.
I love you brother and I will see you again one day.

I am deeply saddened by this loss. I didn't know Jerry as well as many others did. I met him at his sisters wedding where I was a guest, but didn't know hardly anyone in attendance. He immediately welcomed me and made me feel at ease and comfortable, like he had known me for years. I remember his friendly smile, confident personality and his handshake that nearly crushed my hand when he shook it.
My deepest sympathies to his children, grandchildren, family members and all who will feel the void with his passing. God's peace to you all. Rest easy, Jerry.

I still can't believe this is real. There isnt any words to explain what I'm feeling right now, but I know you knew how much I love you. It already seems too quiet around here, without either the revving of the bike going by or the "WooWooWoo" coming from my phone. I miss you so much already, but don't worry I will always keep my promise to you as far as the kids. Rest easy baby. I love you Jerry Coles, you will forever be my always. 💔💔💔
