Lisa McFarland
May 05, 2021
Lisa Anne McFarland passed away at home on May 5, 2021 surrounded by her family after losing her 3rd battle with cancer. Lisa was born in Coronado, California to George and Virginia Nottoli.
After moving around the world as a Navy brat she graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1979. Lisa enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1980. Following basic training, Lisa went to technical school as a Communications Specialist. Lisa’s career in the Air Force sent her to various duty stations as Germany, Turkey, Japan and bases in the United States. Lisa retired from the Air Force in 2000 after 20 years of honorable service.
During her Air Force career she gave birth to Christopher Maes and Amber Maes.
Lisa received an associate’s degree from Community College of the Air Force and a master’s degree from Bellevue University Nebraska.
In May 2005, Lisa met the love and rock of her life David McFarland. They married in December 2005.
Even though she had a distinguished military service Lisa would like to be remembered for her devotion to family. Nowhere would she rather be than hosting family and friends at family BBQs and other family celebrations.
Lisa and David enjoyed cruises, camping and traveling the United States and other countries. Lisa worked for Walgreens and Hy-Vee.
Lisa is survived by her husband, David McFarland; sister, Gina Clewis (David); daughter, Amber Maes Vicich (Shawn); brother, Anthony (Tony) Nottoli; daughter-in-law, Kiera Maes; and 8 grandchildren; step-sons, David McFarland, Jr. (Sara), Michael McFarland (Tonna);; and step-daughter, Makenzie Anderson.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia Nottoli; her brothers, Don P. Nottoli and George M. Nottoli; and son, Chrisopher Maes.

Lisa and I worked at Walgreens together. We had a coffee group of Walgreens ladies. The time was all too short. I miss her.

Sincerest condolences to the many family and friends of Lisa. She always put everyone else first and lover her Family dearly. She was an encouragement to me from the moment I met her in the aisle at Walgreens. Her and Dave delivered a brand new bicycle to my daughter that Christmas. She will be greatly missed.
