Kenneth Dale Geisler, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kenny was born July 4, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa to Gayle Robert Geisler and Corrine Blanche (Spohn) Geisler. He proudly served our nation in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959 as a cook and a demolitionist. He married Shirley Ann Stubbs on January 7th, 1961. Throughout the years Kenny enjoyed traveling the world, gambling a time or two, camping, playing cards, obtaining an impressive classic car collection, and any time spent with his family and friends. He was a hard worker and started a successful business in Geisler Painting and Construction in which he held many federal government contracting jobs.

He is survived by his significant other Dianna Diehm, daughter Linda (Glen), brother Dan (Janet), grandsons: Justin (Sara), Charlie (Crystal), Jesse (Amy), Matthew (Jamie), granddaughters: Dawn (Jeremy), Jenny V. (Jimmy), Heather, Jenny F. (Mike), 22 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents Gayle and Corrine Geisler, and his three loving sons, Donnie, Mike, and David.

There will be a celebration of life at 11:00am Monday, May 10, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting guests at 10:00am. Burial of the urn will take place in New Virginia Cemetery, New Virginia, Iowa at a later date.
