April 23, 2021
Mary Lyons, passed away peacefully on April 23rd, 2021. She was born in Adel, Iowa, on March 15, 1923. Mary was a graduate of Winterset High School. She married the love of her life, Jerry J. Lyons in 1942. She retired from Meredith Corporation. Mary was the matriarch of our family. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Mary especially loved her role as “GMA”. She was a social butterfly with a vivacious personality who always made people around her laugh. Mary loved to dance, play cards, and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all eight of her siblings; and all three of her children, Anne Marie, Larry and Mark.
Mary is survived by her eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Grandma is what I called you!❤ I didn't know you very long, but you gave the advice for life! "A bad tooth is like taking a sip of poison everyday!" I always loved hearing your stories, of the things you have done thur out your life! You have lived a long full life. You have done some amazing things in your journey of life. & You have touched so many souls of people that you have talked to. You definitely touched my!❤ You will be missed Grandma! Another beautiful soul is gone, but will never be forgotten! Rest easy!! It definitely will not be the same when I come over & not being able to talk to you before I leave!!❤ Don't forget to ring your bell for Rhonda every now and then! HAHA.
