Cindy L. Patton

Cindy Louise Patton, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2021 at home with her family.

Cindy was born March 30, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Margaret (Boggs) Laughlin. She enjoyed collecting elephant figurines, shopping, and socializing with her friends. Her favorite color was pink. She was always on the move and liked to keep busy. Above all else, her family was most important to her and she loved caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, James Patton; son, Anton (Pamela) Nichols; grandsons, Isaac and Drake Nichols; brother, Ken Laughlin; step-sons, Richard (Sherry) Patton and Robert (Maria) Patton; step-daughter, Danielle Davis; and her step-grandchildren, Mario, Moniquea, Darrnell, and RayShawn.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margaret Laughlin.

A celebration of life will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Lyn Crossing Apartments, 2000 Meadow Chase Lane, Des Moines, IA 50320 in the Community Room. Please enter where it is marked Office. Masks are optional.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Easter Seals on Iowa.

Ken, your sister was an amazing woman. I felt like I have known her all my life. We didn't socialize much but when we see her out in the yard we talked and laughed. Had good conversation. She was always looking after the kids in the complex and letting them know they could get hurt or what not to do. She will be missed here at Lyn Crossing. Our prayers to you and the rest of her family.
