Charles Cooper

Charles G. Cooper, Sr. passed away on April 17, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 20, 1930, in Greenwood, South Carolina, to Charles and Thelma Cooper.
Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served during the Korean War from June 25, 1948 - June 24, 1952. He was a longtime member of Altoona Christian Church.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles Cooper, Jr., Mark (Candy) Cooper, Pat (Debbi) Cooper, Chris (Allyson) Cooper, Tommy Rhodes, Tammy (Michael) Pierce, and Michael (Bree) Cooper; 22 grandchildren, 27 and counting great-grandchildren; as well as other loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor; second wife, Betty; brother, William, and his sister, Peggy.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021, at Altoona Christian Church, 2890 1st Avenue South in Altoona from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with services to begin at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Mitchellville Cemetery following the service.
