Bernard M. Tyus, 61, of Ankeny, Iowa departed this life on Saturday April 17th, 2021 at Main Street Living.
“Malcolm” as he was called, was born May 9th, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. Malcolm was born to Audrey Mae Tyus. Malcolm attended Tennyson School.
Malcolm loved playing baseball, strikem out, shooting pool, playing cards, marbles, and jacks. Malcom had a special talent when he was a kid. He taught himself how to walk on his hands for blocks at a time.
Malcolm was called home on April 17th, 2021, where he passed peacefully in his sleep at Main Street Living, in Ankeny, Iowa where he was a resident for 6 years. Malcolm was popular, well liked, and very sociable with the staff. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his mother Audrey Mae Tyus, his maternal grandparents, and two sisters, Rosayln Tyus and Yvonne Tyus.
He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers: Harold (Samantha) Tyus of Champaign, IL, Edward Tyus of Chicago, IL, Sean Trotter (Angelina) of San Francisco, CA; five sisters: Yulonda Tyus of Minneapolis, MN, Leaslie Tyus of Edwardsville, IN, Anita Tyus of Chicago, IL, Tracy Tyus of Calumet City, IL, and Felicia Tyus of Chicago, IL; as well as Uncles, Aunties, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a host of friends.
