Dr. Kevin D. Eichelberger
April 17, 2021
Dr. Kevin Dwayne Eichelberger passed away on April 17, from complications of Acute Myeloid Leukemia and was surrounded in love by his family. Dr. Eichelberger was born on December 7, 1964, in Ashland, Ohio to Warren and Louise Eichelberger. He graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1991. Dr. Kevin practiced Chiropractic for over 29 years in Jesup, Des Moines and Altoona, Iowa. He proudly served with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners for 24 years, the last 15 as Chief Examiner.
Dr. Eichelberger lived a life of love and service. His faith guided all he did and it was evident at church, his kid’s activities, and in his community. He never met a sweet he didn’t like and was an avid reader to learn and for enjoyment. He also loved golfing, weight training, cycling, and sports, but spending time with his family was his highest priority. After God, his wife of almost 35 years, Christy, was his best friend and constant companion. They loved eating out, shopping, watching movies, walking, traveling together and spoiling their fur babies, Ella and George. His children were the light of his life and he enjoyed cheering them on in sports, education and life lessons.
He is survived by his wife, Christy (Schrock) Eichelberger, his three children, Corey, Katie and Caleb; his parents Warren and Louise (Welch) Eichelberger, sister Julie Eichelberger, niece Amber (Randy) Rueber and family, Father-in-law, Glen Schrock, brother/sister-in-laws, Casey (Jessie) Schrock and nieces and nephews, Izzy (Josh) Wootonn, Chandler, Ben and Shelby Schrock. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Esther (Schultz) Schrock. He was well loved by many friends and colleagues across the United States.
A private graveside service is planned for April 26, 2021 at the Altoona Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be arranged at a later date to accommodate a larger group of people.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family to be used for ministries Dr. Eichelberger was passionate about.

I sometimes think about those who do not believe hearing about Jesus on my passing. Kevins faith in Jesus is going out to my friends in a way our loving God is directing.

It is my pleasure and God's will that Dr. Eichelberger and I met. I am so blessed to have known him and that he was a great and caring healer. We shall all miss him because he was called home to God early but we shall not ever forget the great gracious person and healer that he was to so many.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. He treated me over the last year and was such a kind man. He casually talked about his family and it was obvious that aside from his passion with his work, he absolutely adored his family. Prayers to you all.

Christy and family,
We are truly sorry for this loss. He was a wonderful man with a gentle spirit and compassion for all. Even though it is unbelievable to us that the Lord would call him Now, we have to believe he is in Heaven and as Diane said, we will see him again one day! God is a healer of our hearts.
