Dawn Renee Stewart
Des Moines, Iowa
Dawn Stewart, age 49, passed away in hospice on Thursday, April 8, 2021, surrounded by her three loving children. Dawn struggled with Dialysis and her health began to decline the last few years. She was born the daughter of Gilbert and Sharon McAninch on June 16, 1971 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Dawn was the type of person who was always there to pick people up when they were down on their luck with zero judgment. Her door was always open and she was there to offer a hug and a hot meal to anyone in need. Dawn worked extremely hard to provide for her family that she loved dearly. She filled the shoes of both mom and dad. She will be lovingly remembered as a people person who had a heart of gold. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids who meant the world to her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tiffany (Robert) Henderson, Brittany Nichols, and Brandon (Kristen) Stewart; grandchildren, Emma, Riley, Nathan, Kayleigh, Emiliana, Landon, and Kinsley; brother, Michael (Teresa) McAninch; and her nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Ashley, Kayley, and John.
Dawn is now reunited with her parents; grandparents; and many other loved ones.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa, with a luncheon to follow at the Eagles Club.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Dawn.

Nothing will be the same without you here Dawn. Mikey and your mom and dad and the kids were such a huge part of my life and I don't know how to believe that you are really gone. I could go through a million stories of all the fun times we had even going up to Iowa to visit you. I will miss you forever and I hope that the entire family some how finds some sort of peace with this because I know I am having a hard time. You will forever be loved and missed by so many people and their lives that you touched! You were and always will be the greatest ❤ I love you Dawn! Love, April ❤🌹❤
