Marple Ann Cano, 66, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Marple was born March 13, 1943 in Des Moines to Francis and Vivian Allen. She had her own house cleaning business. Marple had lived in Des Moines for most of her life. She lived the last 10 years in Oskaloosa. She loved being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jorge, her children, Pam Lara, Angela Martinez both of Des Moines, Anthony Schmidt of Anamosa; her step daughter, Melissa Cano-Zelaya and step son, Anthony Cano both of Des Moines; her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and her brother, Dave Allen.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Animal Rescue League.

To the family of Marple:
My deepest sympathies to you on the loss of Marple. I was saddened when I saw the obit in the newspaper. She cleaned my house here in Oskaloosa for a number of years and was always a pleasure. She so loved all of you. As a mother and grandmother she would always speak so proudly of each of you and at times with frustration but in her frustration there was always a deep love. Her other love was definelty for animals. Her dogs meant the world to her as well and she took great joy in them. She treated my cat like royalty when she was here.
May God grant you all peace in knowing that she is now with Him and may He comfort you in your time of loss.
