Michael Todd Ingersoll, 45, better known as Mike or Ingy, died accidently on September 26, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a Remembrance Celebration to follow at 8 p.m.
Mike was born November 27, 1963 to Larry and Judy Ingersoll in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School and earned his BA in Business at the University of Iowa. Until recently, he was a sales representative for Cummins Allison since 1997. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and his Iowa Hawkeyes.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sally; parents, Larry and Judy Ingersoll; children, Chris (Megan) Leewright and Jody (Mike) Leewright; grandchildren, Bianca, Kylee, Kyra, and Xavier; grandparents, Everett and Grace Ingersoll and Lowell and Shirley Hill; and many other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice Hill.

I first met Mike in 1997 and since we worked in the same office he shared many stories of his family and friends with me. I came to realize how much they meant to him in his everyday life. I also learned some important lessons from him. One lesson was to live life to its fullest and with a little effort you can make anyone your friend. I also learned that family, friends and happiness always come before work.
Even though I moved From Des Moines to the Chicago area in 2004 I was lucky enough to be on his redneck joke email list. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet and spend time with such a funny and wonderful person. I can truly say he inspired me to become a better person. I only wish more people could be like Mike.
My condolences go out to Mikes family and friends. He will be greatly missed

I was very saddened to hear the news of Mike's sudden death. I have known Mike since grade school and don't know if I have ever met a funnier person. You always knew if Mike walked into the room that laughter would follow. I live in Arizona now and unfortunately, don't get the chance to run into as many old classmates as I would like. The last time I saw Mike was at our 20th high school reunion. I was happy to hear that he had found happiness in his life with Sally. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow. With his passing, there goes a little more laughter from this world.

To Sally and Bianca and the rest of Mike's family, we are so very sorry for your loss and want to let Sally and Bianca know that we are here if they need anything. Mike was always so nice to our daughter Katharine, Bianca's schoolmate, and we have fond memories of him and what a good man he was.
