Pamela Ann Harmon, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the comfort of her own home.
Pam was born January 18, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to Don and Jackie (Robinson) Collins. She retired from Des Moines School District where she was employed as a clerk in the lunch room for many years. Pam loved to travel and enjoyed going to many exotic places she never thought she’d see in her lifetime. Her favorite pastime when she was not traveling was going to the movies. Pam’s life revolved around family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved her and she touched countless lives.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Tony) Tavegia of Pleasant Hill; niece/daughter, Kim Robinson and her son Kyle; brother, Don (Kathy) Collins of Runnells; nieces, Tracee and Anjie; grandchildren, Taylor (Willie), Phillip (Sharon), Gabrielle and Emily; and great-grandchildren, Franki Ann, Robert, Devin and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Doc” Harmon; daughter, Shawn Harmon-Isbell; and her parents, Don and Jackie Collins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, also at Hamilton’s, and will be followed by cremation. The family respectfully requests that masks be worn. There will be a luncheon following the funeral at the Elks Lodge in Pleasant Hill. Inurnment will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the family for a future designation.

Pam was a beautiful women inside and out!! She took me in when I had nowhere to go and I will forever be thankful for that. Pam and Doc both were great role models for me in my life.

To my dear cousin and close friend we grew up together and stay overs at each other's houses went swimming together and had lots of fun. You will be dearly missed by me and anyone who really knew you ,both me and Connie we're hoping you would be able to come again but we'll have to see you in heaven the next time love and hugs and prayers to your family

In all my working years, Pam was one of the most kind, sweet, and likeable people I had the pleasure to have known. She loved and was so proud of her family. She was a gem. She will be missed. Prayers for her loved ones.
