I have always remembered Mr Tilotta who taught at May Goodrell. The day JFK was assassinated he came into the lunchroom crying. He was a great teacher.

I met Vic through my parents. He and my parents were a group of friends who regularly got together for pot lunch dinners. His good natured personality and humor made knowing him an honor.
Rest In Peace, Vic.
You will be missed.

He was my teacher at Brody in the late 60s or early 70s. He was so much fun and a great teacher. Everyone loved him. He saw each of us. That is quite a skill.

Mr. T taught me history for the 3 years I attended Brody middle school ( 87 - 89) and I remember the way he always made class fun! He could be strict when needed and sweet as well, but he always knew how to help any students when needed! RIP Mr. T gone but for sure never forgotten!!

Mr. Tilotta sub taught us our freshman year at Lincoln High. (Class of '70) He had such energy & enthusiasm. He made it fun to be in his class! Much later my daughter had him too. She felt the same! Great memories.

Mr Tilotta was one in a million. Brody Jr High History class was one of my favorites because of him. History was boring, but not Mr T. He handed out his favorite Mars bars for good tests & classroom participation. He accepted them as payment & gifts as well🤣.
I'll never forget the time he offered a BOX of Mars bars because he just KNEW no-one could answer his question. "Who was President Roosevelt's dog?" I raised my hand & said "Fala!" Fala was a Black Scottish Terrier & was the White House Dog-in-Chief.
🤣🤣🤣He threw a fun fit & said I cheated, it was impossible that I knew that! HOW did I know that was the name of dog? No one knows it but him!
Hello? My Grampa Jack gave me his little brass statue of Fala because he knew what his little dog lover needed. Fala was Barbie's dog for years & he helped me win a box of MY favorite candy bars.
Eventually. I had to harass Mr Tilotta to pay up🤣❣

He was the funniest man I ever got to meet through my parents Eugene and Patricia Garsh he was my dad's lifelong friend
I couldn't tell you how they met only my dad knows this story ...my dad was Jewish and he was a Catholic... He knew Jack and Georgia Renn and Dwayne and Marylou Weave and once a month for along time they would go to each other's homes to have a potluck and visit and tell jokes and stories as I became an adult and I would see him out and about I would always ask him how he was doing and if he needed me to help him with anything
Always telling me no and not to worry about him
May he rest peacefully now
Love and our sincerest condolences to the entire family
Love always

Mr. Tilotta was my home room teacher at May Goodrell Junior High. He was also my history teacher there, and without doubt formed my life. He would always treat us with respect and a supporting manner. Make no mistake, he was tough and demanding which I really needed. You could go to him with problems and always felt better after a talk with VJT. (Thats how he signed his hall passes). I never wanted to disappoint him. I wonder if part of his appeal was that he drove a lime/mustard green 1963 Thunderbird which we though made him COOL. I know I thought he was. I went on to a forty year career teaching US History at Valley and DMACC West....Guess who influenced that career. I even substituted one day for Mr.Tilotta at Brody Middle School and was surprised he remembered me....it was like walking on hallowed ground. I just turned 70 and I remember him like it was yesterday....perhaps that illustrates the impact VJT had on all of us. My prayers are with Mr. Tilotta and his family and friends.

He subbed a lot during my freshman year at Lincoln. Always the last 10 minutes of class he would tell jokes. One of a kind.

Vic- my awesome Uncle. I cant say how many times Ive have been stopped over the years asking if I was related to Vic because he deeply touched their lives through his teaching at Brody Junior High and Lincoln High School. What can you say about a man who wrote 4 plays on his 1960 typewriter and submitted game show concepts to the networks? We love you, we miss you and may you always keep telling your stories and jokes Be happy!
