Robert “Bob” Pratt, 85, dead. As he wished for it to be announced.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 5-7pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8th, at 10am at the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that all guests wear masks and practice social distancing guidelines.
Bob enjoyed living life to the fullest with friends and family. He retired from a long career at Des Moines Water Works in 1992. He enjoyed his retirement as a bartender and friend of many at Southtown Tap, Top of the Hill, and The American Legion Hispanic Post 731. Bob had a passion for service and fellowship at The American Legion Hispanic Post 731 until his last days.
Bob is survived by his children, John Pratt (Cathy Smalley), Bill Pratt (Deb), Julie Knudtson (Robert), and Mary Ellen Pratt-Stanley (Mark). Along with his grandchildren, Jules Pratt, Todd Knudtson (Melissa), and Ethan Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen and John Pratt; siblings, Bonnie Hopka and Marcel Cunningham; his beloved wife Elsie; and daughter-in-law, Janiece Pratt.
Memorial contributions may be sent to The American Legion Hispanic Post 731 and St. Jude in lieu of flowers.

Mary Ellen and family - We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Bob seems like a man who really knew how to enjoy life while giving of himself to others. Cherish the memories and good times. Hugs to all of you in this difficult time.
