Jamie Matthew Ryan, 33, died Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home. He was born on September 3, 1976 in Waterloo, Iowa.
He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, as well as the Ankeny Hawks. Jamie enjoyed working on cars and being outdoors, hunting, fishing and doing landscaping.
Jamie is survived by his father, Jeff (Julie) Ryan; his mother, Sherry Welch; his siblings, Shay (Greg) Vrchoticky, Zach and Alec Ryan; grandparents, Ralph & Joann Welch; aunts and uncles, Mary Ryan, Scott (Deb) Ryan, Lisa (Scott) McFall, Rick (Shimene) Ryan, Beth (John) Ravis, Cindy (Ron) McDowell, Chris (Steve) Weymiller, Terry (Laurie) Welch, Jill (Jim) Kiesau, and Kim (Amy) Welch; Lady Branham and many cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Matthew Thomas and Ruby Elizabeth Ryan; uncle, Tom Ryan and aunt, Jackie Welch.
Visitation with the family present will be 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2009 with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Following the visitation, Jamie will be cremated and a private burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Jeff, Julie and family:
We are saddened to hear the news of Jamie's passing. Some questions will never be answered here on earth, we can only trust the Lord has a plan for each of us and that one day the answers will be made known. Jeff, Julie and Family, It's 3:30 and in an hour and a half you will be in awe at the emotions and behaviors of all that can make it to visitation. We are there in heart, as Shay has a football game at Clear Creek. We pray that by God's grace Jamie will be in Heaven with our Master. I don't know how long that process takes, but I am sure he is already there, "CHEERING YOU ON"! Sincerely, the Keeps.

At times like this I try to search for the right thing to say; somehow, maybe say the right thing to deliver some sort of peace. I never can seem to find the words. There is a great deal of hardship and suffering that goes along with life, and if there is any consolation or words of hope that I could express, it would be to know that the good times, the moments of joy and happiness that were brought to each other, those are still there. Those times happened because of the love and care you had for each other, and that is part of the good in life. No matter what else happens, those will always be there.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. If you ever need to talk for a while, you know you can always call me.

I am so sorry for your loss. When we become parents, we don't expect that part of the bargain may be to lose one of our children too soon. I guess God thought Jamie had fulfilled his purspose on this earth. You just have to be grateful for the time you had with him.

What a shock it was to hear about Jamie. I know that you are faced with many different emotions right now. You know that the sun will come up each day and life must and will go on. I will just ask you to keep the faith and the smiles will return and life will return to a normal state. I will share with you that I lost a little girl and questioned Gods wisdom in taking her. Since we cant see the future it is difficult to see why one of our loved ones must be taken so early. I think its okay to question but again keep the faith. There will be a time when you are thinking about the happy times spent with Jamie and a smile will creep across your face as you relive the memories and you can once again enjoy him.

So sorry to hear that Jamie passed. We shared many nights out riding and swapping stories. Jamie will be missed and always thought of in the highest regards. Godspeed Brother, WFO as always!
