Alexander James Norton
March 16, 2021
Alexander James Norton came screaming into this world rattling eardrums and melting hearts on September 13, 2020 to his proud parents, James & Amber Norton (nee Tyler) and big sister Vivian. He spent the next six months being loving and patient, not one for fuss or crying. Alex passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on March 16, 2021.
Alex was loved deeply and looked after by Vivian who always wanted to hold and care for her brother. Alex enjoyed reading books with her and watching her play.
James and Amber took every opportunity to shower him with kisses and hugs, tickling his ribs, and making sure he knew he was loved. Alex loved bathtime and gave the best snuggles.
Although his time here was short, the impact he had on the lives he touched was profound. Alex will be dearly missed. As we mourn the loss of this beautiful baby boy, we know that good company awaits to greet him - his great grandparents Jerry and Mary Flaherty, Norma Norton, Betty Kipfer, and his "Uncle" Nicholas Lange.
Visitation will be held Sunday March 21st, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with his funeral following at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alex Norton Owlet Memorial Donation GoFund Me page. Alex's family will be purchasing Owlets for new families and donating them through Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines.

Amber, JT and Vivian,
I wish I knew the right words to say, but theres nothing that would ever sound right. Know that you are in my prayers for the loss of Alex. I feel like I knew Alex even though we physically never met. Your Facebook posts from his birth through out his short life brought great joy and happiness to me and so many others. May you find comfort in your memories and your never ending love for Alex. May God bless you and your family.
