Helen Johnson

Helen Johnson, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. She was born on August 21, 1936 in California.

While living in California, Helen worked at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard and for Discovery Toys. Some of her hobbies included putting together photo albums and going to the casino. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rebecca Clasen; grandchildren, Kelly (Patrick) Ihns and Loren Steven (Jennifer) Clasen; great-grandchildren; Taylor (Samuel) Chase;, Dustin (fiancé, Kristin Riley) Ihns, Jarrett Clasen, and Logan Clasen; great-great-grandchildren, Quinn Chase, Maddox Chase, and Maren Chase; and half-brother, Robert Burden.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; lifelong friend, Shirley Elifritz; and son-in-law, Loren F. Clasen.

A private interment will occur at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
