Judy Ann Rasmussen

Judy Ann Rasmussen passed away on March 10, 2021 in West Des Moines, IA. She was born to George and Lois Kern, Jr. on October 4, 1944. She married John B. Rasmussen on August 6, 1966. A private family service will be held with burial at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Judy volunteered at the Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA and Camp Dodge in Johnston, IA and received the 33rd Annual Governor’s Award for her volunteer work. She became a Master Gardener and volunteered at many local gardens. She was a member of St. Pius Church and served on the Plant Watering Crew, the Art & Environment Committee, and was a minister of Holy Communion.

She is survived by her daughters, Cris (Brett) Glenn of Adel, IA, Kim (Jeff) Hedges of Oakville, IA, and Nicole (Mike) Ihrig of De Soto, IA; six grandchildren, Gavin Glenn of Bondurant, IA, Gabbie Glenn of Des Moines, IA, Megan (Corey) Hedges of Phoenix, AZ, Allison (Joe) Fedoris of Nashville, TN, Ashley Hedges of Mebane, NC and Kennedy Ihrig of Des Moines, IA; her brother, Robert (Jacquie) Kern of Oswego, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat (late Austin) Rice, Marty (late Keith) Kafe, Charlie (JoAnn) Rasmussen, Sally (late Dick) Rasmussen, Katie Graff, Gary (Carol Lea) Rasmussen, Frank (Dorothy) Rasmussen, Mike (Kay) Rasmussen, and Shelia (Roger) Richards; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; brother, Tom Kern; and brother-in-law, Leo (Pat) Rasmussen.
