Bryan Merryfield
March 07, 2021
Bryan Merryfield, age 34, passed away unexpectedly at his home in the early hours of Sunday, March 7, 2021. Bryan was born to Kim and Joe Merryfield on December 10, 1986, in Des Moines, Iowa.
More than anything, we know in our hearts that Bryan wanted to live. He wanted to watch his girls Isabella, Bryleigh, and Harper grow; he wanted to be there to smother them in kisses and wrap them in warm hugs. Bryan had an infinite love for his daughters. He didn’t want to be defined by his illnesses or his mistakes. Over the years, Bryan pushed through so much pain, but we take comfort knowing he is now healed and free of suffering.
Bryan enjoyed video games, playing disc golf, and softball. He especially loved to hang out with his friends and family and share his sarcastic, teasing commentary, with that classic Bryan look—the smirky grin, the little shine in his eyes. He was hilariously quick-witted and could always make you smile. Bryan loved fiercely and was one of the most loyal people you will ever meet.
Those left to cherish Bryan’s memory include his daughters Isabella, Bryleigh, and Harper; parents, Kim and Joe Merryfield Jr.; brother, Joseph Merryfield; grandparents Donna McNeley and Connie and Joe Merryfield; uncles Jon Merryfield and Kevin Gogerty; Aunts; Michelle Gogerty and Shannon Merryfield; numerous cousins, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his hero, Grandpa Bob McNeley, and his best friend and cousin, Brian Lee Scott.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 12, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Bryan.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our families have endured more loss than we should have this past year. There are no comforting words for the loss of a child. Please know we are here if there is anything we can do for you family.

Bryan, may you be at peace. You have a tremendous amount of family and friends who are at a loss with you being gone. That little girl will be very loved and without a doubt taken care of.
