Ellen Jennings

Ellen Jennings, 63, passed away February 1 at Mercy Hospital Medical center after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Ellen was born in Atlantic, IA and was a graduate of Menlo High School. She retired from Marsh and McLennan in June of 2003.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved southern gospel music and served as a promoter for Harbour Lights of Winterset, IA for several years.
Ellen loved her family and enjoyed collecting lighthouse items, baking cookies and embroidering blocks to make baby quilts.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry, three daughters: Connie (Kevin) Djuth of Germany, Carrie Wright and Kristy Jennings both of Des Moines; her mother, Myrtle Heckman of Menlo; two brothers, Marvin (Debbie) Heckman of McHenry, IL and Bill Heckman of Menlo and her cat Sweet Pea.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to her church for the children/youth classes or to the American Cancer Society.
