Carolyn Walker

Carolyn E. Walker passed away from cancer at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born March 12, 1945 to Charles and Alette Shull in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up on the south side of Des Moines along with her brother, sister, and many cousins who lived nearby.
Carolyn married Gary Lee Walker on July 17, 1979 and resided in Warren County for the past 30 years. Carolyn enjoyed her children, grandchildren, family events, traveling, gambling, and helping others. Carolyn was an active member at Summerset Baptist Church and enjoyed expressing her faith by sharing the Word of God with others.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Gary, her sons George (Tracy) Morgan of Indianola, Dean (Kristi) Morgan of Ankeny, her daughter Alette (Rick) Bodendorfer of Austintown, Ohio, six grandchildren, her sister Anita (Bob) Ferren of Runnells, her sister-in-law Stephanie Shull of Runnells, her loving nieces and nephews, as well as her many extended family members and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter Char'lee, her brother Charles Shull, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009 and funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Walker family which will be distributed among Carolyn's favorite charities.
