Helen Josephine Franks

Helen J. Franks, 83, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Parkridge Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill.
Helen was born June 15, 1926 to James and Mabel Maples in Denison, Iowa. She had lived in the Des Moines area since 2001.
Helen is survived by her children, Betty (Harold McClain) Crockett, Michael Franks and Donald (Elizabeth) Armstrong; brother, Donald Maples; sisters, Gloria Anderson and Sylvia Lopez; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Franks; sisters, Billie and Mary; and brothers, James and Charles.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Helen will be buried in Chicota, Texas next to her late husband, Earl.
