Ronald E. “Ron” Lambert, Sr., age 74, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Ron was born September 2, 1946 in Brookfield, Missouri to Donald and Sarah (Busick) Lambert. He was a blue collar worker who enjoyed working with his hands. Ron spent most of his adult years working in the auto body trade. When not working he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and biking. Family was always first in his eyes and he was always there to help, or give a shoulder to lean on. Ron loved his wife dearly and he enjoyed spoiling her.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Evelyn; children, Croy (Nikki Caylor) Lambert, Rochelle (Chris) Baker, Ryan (Darcy) Luna, Todd (Morgan Kalwies) Luna, Larry Lambert; grandchildren, Makaylyn, Mayzalene and Koryn Lambert, Anthony and Kaylea Mendoza, Cein Luna, Kynley Luna, Zachary Lambert, Shelby Lambert, Ashley (Patrick) Windish; great-grandson, Royce Hoffmann; sister, Jean Guy; brother-in-law, Jerry Bird; daughter-in-law, Heather Lambert; and many other relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Lambert, Jr.; his parents, Donald and Sarah Lambert; a brother in infancy, Donald; and sisters, Shirley Byrd and Cheryl Goemaat.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. There will be a reception after the services. The family respectfully requests guests wear masks and to socially distance.
