March 02, 2021
Kristin Reams, 46 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa. Family requests that masks be worn and social distancing strongly adhered to.
Kristin was born on May 21, 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa to Marilyn (Huffman) and Darrell Reams. She was a graduate of Valley High School and was a 4th generation graduate. She studied Dog Behavior at Penn Foster, and Dog Behavior and Training at ABC Animal Behavior College. Kristin was passionate about the care of animals and shared her love for dogs in her rescue work. She worked as a veterinary technician at Iowa Veterinary Specialties Emergency Vet Clinic and was devoted to her work. Kristin also treasured her children, Nicole and Tanner, grandson Asher, and fur babies Izzy and Duncan.
Giving, Loving, Vibrant, Charismatic, Determined, Strong Willed, Fierce, Scientific, and Loyal are just a few of the thousands of words that our mother embodied in her everyday life. She was an avid sports fan with softball and soccer being her first two go to’s. She loved her Thursday night and weekend live music events. She marched for equal rights, black life’s matter, LBGTQ rights, and women’s rights. She was an animal activist, and active with Joppa outreach, working with the homeless. She had a heart of gold, and was always an open ear to anyone in need.
Her family is devastated by her loss. She is succeeded by her daughter, Nicole Bagby; grandson, Asher Bagby; son, Tanner Redenius; sister, Hollee Crees and brother-in-law, Brian Crees; and nephews, Benjamin and Samuel Crees. Kristin was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Reams and father, Darrell Reams.
In lieu of flowers, for memorials, an account has been established at Banker’s Trust to assist animals in need. Checks or cash may be deposited in the account established by Nicole Bagby.

We met Kristen at IVS. She was always so helpful and knowledgeable, and she loved seeing our Shih Tzu and us whenever we came in. We will greatly miss her presence there. Our prayers go out to the family.
