Deepest sympathies to the Heideman Family. Muriel was my 3rd grade teacher as well as my sister and brother in the Pomeroy School in the 70's. I posted her obituary on my FB page and numerous former students commented on how much they enjoyed her. I hope if anyone is one FB they will look it up. My brother Jason Gerdes farms the Heideman ground by Twin Lakes. Again, my deepest sympathies.

So sorry to hear of your family's loss. Muriel was always so warm and gracious to us when we made our yearly visit to our grandfather's farm as children. She seemed so happy about the move to Des Moines and the opportunities to socialize more. My parents, both gone now, appreciated Vonne & Muriel's stewardship and friendship very much. My condolences to all her family. RIP dear lady.

Muriel would have loved her funeral. Steve did a wonderful job of describing his mother, she was an amazing woman who touched so many lives. I am so proud to call her my cousin. Now she is at peace

All three of our children had the honor of having Muriel as their third-grade teacher in the 1970s in Pomeroy. She was what every child needed in a teacher, not only in the classroom, but as an effective influence in their lives. She was patient, kind and caring. She greeted the kids coming to class with a smile, a good word or a hug. She taught at a time when teachers were professionally dressed, setting an example for her students. She left a positive mark on all the children she taught through the years. We had no idea she taught music lessons through the years. She would have been a wonderful piano teacher for our children also. During the time we lived and worked in Pomeroy, Ken was honored to officiate at Grandma Tucker's funeral. Thank you, Steve, for what you shared of your legacy. The inspirational music added to the tribute to her life. Our lives were richer because Muriel was a small part of them. Our sympathy to the family. May she rest in peace.

Muriel was always one of my favorite people, and very lady like. I remember my piano lessons with her fondly, its always sad to lose a loved one. One of our favorite scriptures is found in Revelation 21:3,4 where it tells us God promises to do away with death as well as tears, mourning and sorrow. You have our deepest sympathy and love. We really enjoyed Stevens relating some highlights of her life during the service.

I have so many fun and meaningful memories of Muriel, Vonne and the Heideman family. Muriel was so gracious, kind and warm to all. Steve captured so much of her essence and joyfulness in the five pillars of her legacy. She made us all better and more loving people just by being herself.

Aunt Muriel was classy and spunky, at the same time. She was such fun to be around (she always laughed at my jokes, and never forgot them--what a nice quality). So many happy memories of time with her.
