Carol Lind

Carol Ray Lind, age 80 passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Valley View Retirement Community in Des Moines, Iowa. Services will be private at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens.

Carol was born October 3, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond Leroy “Lee” and Elsie (Waters) Lind. She graduated from East High School in January 1959. She attended college at University of Iowa for 1 year, and then transferred to Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY graduating in 1963. Carol received a Master of Arts Degree in Library Science in Colorado and from there moved to Providence, Rhode Island where she worked in the Brown University Library. Missing her hometown, she returned to Des Moines. She worked for the Department of Transportation for the State of Iowa for many years and later worked several years for Joseph Jewelry in Des Moines.

She is survived by her sister, Leslie (Bill) Burdick who lives in Mason City and nephew, Scott Burdick and niece Christi Burdick-Travis and their children. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie & Lee Lind.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Capitol Hill Lutheran church where Carol was a lifetime member.
