When I received the email from a prominent Mason who is also very prominent in DM High 12, about Bud's passing, I was shocked and saddened.
Bud meant so much to me - among the Masonic lodges in Central Iowa, Grand Lodge and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Past Masters Club. I will always remember traveling with him to Past Masters Club functions at lodges outside of Central Iowa.
He was very helpful to me on occasions.
I was very elated when he became and served as Grand Master.

My deepest sympathy to all of Bud's family. I really enjoyed working with both Bud and Kris at the 132d Fighter Wing. I also am a Mason and Bud was so good with the Masonic ritual. He will really be missed. May the memories of both keep you strong!

I have known Bud since 1983. We both were recruiters, Air Guard and Army Guard. We had fun when exchanging leads with each other. Then later we became more social friends. Our philosophy of life was very close.
Bud was a very honest, hard working, sincere man. I knew Kris well, also. I will miss both of them!

I worked for Bud at the storage site when I was a young troop. I was nervous being a new guy. Bud always reassured me everything was okay. He treated everyone with his wit, humor and charm. We enjoyed an occasional visit to the Gas Lite Lounge on Fleur. They were the best working days of my young life.I will never forget. I thank Bud for his support and the support of others.

Most Worshipful Brother Bud, you were a rock within the Masonic community but more especially for all of the Brothers of Home Lodge. I really respected your opinion and guidance. Rest in peace, enjoy your reward. Well done my Brother, peace be with you.

My Condolences to the Erickson family
As a Past Master of Home Lodge #370 MW Brother Bud was my biggest mentor for my year as Master and even after , He and Kris were the rock I leaned on the most
I seen the kind of help I received from Bud to the Masters before me and the Masters that came after 2009 ...MW Brother Bud did everything a Fraternity Brother should do , bring us into Further Light and keep us on that path through out our lives here on earth until we lay down those working tools
Well , MW Brother Bud has layed down his tools and he is now in the hands of the Grand Master of the Universe
RIP MW Brother Bud and you and Kris walk hand in hand once again
You will be Greatly missed by many as you were Loved by All

I first met Bud when I came into his Recruiters Office at the 132ND TFW in 1979. I asked him to give me a tour of the entire base so I could see just what the ANG was all about and how I could fit in to this distinguished group of Iowa Patriots serving our state and nation. I'll never forget his thoroughness and professionalism and how knowledgeable he was about every aspect of serving with this incredible group. Transferring from the US Navy Reserve to the IA ANG was probably the easiest deciision I ever had to make in life because of Bud's efforts that day. I was as excited to get started as a five year old on Christmas morning and I never looked back. Brother Bud your were the Best of the Best and you made it look easy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wisdom and concern for this fellow Iowan and the change that greatly enhanced my opportunities to serve among the best Iowa has to offer the United States Air Force! Enjoy your loved ones and friends in Paradise dear friend, CMSGT, K.L. Hutcheson, USAF, Ret.

As a fellow Past Master at Home Lodge #370 we will all miss Bud. He cared deeply about his fellow Brothers and never stopped trying to bring Brothers to further light. He will be missed.

Bud Erickson was the hardest working soul in the 132nd Fighter Wing in my opinion. His service to our unit as a recruiter was without peer. He never failed to bring talented candidates to our Civil Engineering Squadron. Bud was consistently positive in outlook and enthusiastic about our organization. He was a patriot through and through. I was blessed to know Bud. Rest In Peace my friend as you join your beloved Kris in the great beyond.

My heart is broken. Bud was my recruiter, and Kris was my friend. Kris was a bridesmaid in my wedding, in 1980. All our lives moved on from there. RIP from the Fagan family.

Bro. Bud: We are all going to miss you. I had a lot of good times with you over the years. We traveled so many places together with the Shrine Past Masters and worked together in York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine, and Blue Lodge. I'm going to miss our calls together. You and Kris are back together now and will never again be apart. Both of you were the best. Thanks for so many good memories. God bless you.
