Lonnie Ray Dishman, 62, passed away February 16, 2021 at the Panora Specialty Care Center in Panora, IA. Services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in Des Moines, IA with visitation from 12 to 2:00 p.m. and the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery also in West Des Moines.
Lon was born on October 5, 1958 in Des Moines, IA to Dorothy (Hodges) and Raymond Dishman. He was a graduate of Des Moines Tech High School and continued his education in the area of mechanics and worked in the forklift industry.
Lon was an avid race fan and enjoyed watching Jeff Gordon race. He was most content puttering in his garage, watching the Chief’s play football or riding his motorcycle.
He is greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Jenna Rae and Brian Stringer; his two grandchildren, Logan and Lane Stringer, with a third grandbaby on the way; sister, Dee (Vince) Venezia; brother, Gary (Kathy) Titus; best friends, Boone and Maverick; and his devoted dog, Kobe.
Lon was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Titus.

Lonnie you were a great friend & neighbor for 23 years. We will miss you greatly. The time spent having a beer in the yard, working on projects together & fun in the snow! Our hearts go out to you Jenna. I know he loved you with every fiber of his being. Rest in peace dear friend.
