Timothy Johnson, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Altoona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on April 6, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa to Marvin and Margaret Johnson.
Tim was a proud East High School graduate, Class of 1969. He worked for Western International on the assembly line and did valet for both Mercy Plaza and Prairie Meadows, and most recently worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Some of his hobbies and interests included spending time with his Pomeranian, Sassy who he loved. He enjoyed cleaning and tinkering on his Jeep. Above all, Tim was a family man and loved having dinner with his kids and grandkids.
He is lovingly survived by his children, Brian (Angela) Johnson of Altoona, Tom (Angie) Johnson of Pleasant Hill, and Stephanie Snell of Osceola; 8 grandchildren; and his sister Linda Johnson (Craig Palmer) of West Des Moines.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will be privately celebrating Tim’s life this spring.

Tim and I were best friends in the 50s and early 60s until his family moved away from Maple Street. I have fond memories of Tim and his family.

So sorry to hear this. I've known Tim since high school. We worked together at AMF. Drank a lot of beer together. I would run into Tim at HyVee and we would talk for along time. Tim, you rest in peace, you will be missed.
