Anna Christine Calvert “Annie”, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2021 at her home. Annie was born on August 19, 1981 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Annie attended Urbandale High School. She loved competitive swimming; and mastered all four strokes although the butterfly was her specialty. Annie was affectionally known as “Turtle - Fast in the water, slow on land”.

She attended Kaplan University, and Mercy College of Health Sciences. Graduating in 2016 with her Associate in Science of Nursing Degree (RN). Annie worked at Regency Care Center in Norwalk Iowa. She was admired by her patients for the excellent care and attention she gave to each and every one of them. Annie treated them as family and they looked forward to Annie’s boys coming in to visit them. She had many great qualities; she was greatly appreciated for her impeccable charting skills. Annie was never one to cut corners, she put her heart and soul into her work and the people around her.

Annie had a beautiful smile, a generous heart and a witty personality. She was a friend to everyone and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Annie could always make people around her laugh. Annie was a loving and devoted mother to her three boys, Taelor Ray Alan Jones (21), Austin Michael Jones (19), and Jaxson Lee Calvert (3). Annie is also survived by her parents, Susie and Keith Hupp and Harold and Chris Calvert; sister, Jacklyn (Matt) Hoskins; step-sisters, Amy Pierce and Kimberly (Jason) Knight; step-brother, Corey McSparen; special uncle Mike Greif; grandfather, Errett “Porky” Parrish; and a host of extended family and friends.

Annie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence “Junior” and Betty Greif and Audie and Mildred Calvert; and her grandmother, Doris Parrish.

The family respectfully requests social distancing and the wearing of masks. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2021, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
