Dy Thepkome

Dy Thepkome, 82, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at her home in Des Moines. Dy was born on January 3, 1939 and grew up in Ban Tung Gub in Laos, where she was a farmer. She became a refugee in Thailand in 1979 and came to the US in 1989, where she remained living until her death.

Dy is survived by her sons, Inh Thepkome, Chone Thepkome, Kham Thepkome, and Sing Thepkome; daughters, Yaeng Yingyoth, Vay Sayavong, Hom Souasyanga, and Somchan Carrillo;

Dy was preceded in death by her husband, Ya Thepkome.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 6th, at the funeral home. Burial of cremated remains will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 8th at Glendale Cemetery.
