Life is About Jesus - All the Rest is Details

On February 2, 2021, Samuel Joseph Klindt, at age 45, peacefully left this world and, winning his battle with cancer, entered with joy into his forever home in heaven. Sammy, as known by many, was born to Pete and Susie Klindt of Des Moines, Iowa. February 10, 1975.

Where do you begin to describe a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Sam, though a gentle soul, was passionate about many things. He adored spending time outdoors, whether hunting with his Dad, fishing in Canada with family and friends, or spending restful time in beautiful, Northern Minnesota with his wife, Suzanne. Sammy also loved designing beautiful wooden crosses.

Sam used his gift as a preaching writer to encourage many with letters and “the world’s longest text messages.”

When Sammy was diagnosed with cancer, one of the first things he said to his family was “I am healed, I will either see it here or there, either way, I am healed.”

As his family and friends, there is so much more we would like you to know about this incredible man but, the most important detail about Sammy’s life was that he was a light in a dark world. He held on to this life very loosely, trusting God with all the details, he was generous and kind and always ready to drop everything and help. His incredible love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, caused Sammy to freely give away his life to others. Suzanne, and his “little morsel,” Faith Rose, were the delight of his life.

To say we will miss him does not even come close to how we feel, but we know our sorrow will be healed by the same God who healed this precious man. Sure, we will miss him very much, but a day is coming soon when we will rejoice at our reunion with him.

Sammy is survived by his beautiful wife Suzanne and their three-year-old daughter Faith Rose, parents Pete and Susie Klindt of Des Moines, a sister Anna Brumm of Des Moines, and brother Andrew Klindt (wife Kelly) also of Des Moines.

Cards or memorial contributions in honor of Sam can be sent to: Crosspoint Family Church, c/o Suzanne Klindt, PO Box 325 Bondurant, IA 50035.
