Service Details
Virgil Howard McSwain, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Fleur Heights Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Virgil is survived by his sons, Michael (Jane) McSwain, Robert (Carole) McSwain and Roy McSwain; daughter, Carol (Ray) Fretz; daughter-in-law, Shirley McSwain; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Anna; his parents, Robert and Letha (Spencer) McSwain and two sons, James McSwain and Paul McSwain.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice in loving memory of Virgil.

Bob and Carole,
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your father from Heidi. I am so thankful you were able to get there before he passed. I truly believe he was waiting on you to get there to say your final goodbye. You will see him again one day real soon.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know your father is in a better place now.
May God give you the strength and courage to get through this difficult time.
