Jerry Baker, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Calvin Community.
Jerry was born the son of Lawrence and Irene Baker on October 25, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines. After high school, he served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He met and fell in love with Vera Lee Nystrom, they married and had two children, Jay Lawrence and John Bradley. Jerry’s number one priority in his life was his family. He was an Assistant Vice President for Federal Bank until his retirement in 1984.
He is survived by his son, Jay Lawrence Baker; two brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Vera; his son, John Bradley Baker and two brothers, Robert and William.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2 pm at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a Memorial Service held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Mary 15, 2021 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

So sorry for your loss....I worked for Jerry "back in the day" as his secretary at Home Federal Savings and Loan. He was a great boss and a very nice guy all around!!
