James Van Hon

James”JJ” Van Hon, age 26, passed away Thursday January 14, 2021at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

JJ was born June 18, 1994 in Des Moines, Iowa to Mike Van Hon and Debbie Hale. He was a graduate from Creston High School in 2014. He enjoyed watching movies, eating, swimming, and floating in the water. He was active in Special Olympics and excelled in bowling. He was a gold medalist at the state level!

His smile made you smile, his laugh made you laugh and his love made you lucky.

JJ is survived by his parents, Mike Van Hon and Debbie (Dave) Hale; his brothers Noah Hale and Michael Day; grandparents, Jane Tyler, James (Linda) Delin, and Lyle (Dorothy) Hale; and several loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tom Van Hon and Patricia Van Hon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. Services will be live streamed and can be seen at Memorial Service
