Don Jones was one of the good guys. I don't know that I have ever met a more honest man. He, as mentioned by another, was a good soul. I knew Don theough Des Moines Scottish Rite, he was one of our most outstanding members and will be greatly missed.

I was very sorry to here of your passing. You were always a good friend. I remember watching you play such good music in your band, back in the 80's. Thank you for taking me to dinner and introducing me to Escargot. I still love it! Thank you, for all the little gifts that you bought me. Thank you, for being you. You always knew, how to make me laugh! You will truly be missed! Love you, my forever friend!

It has been my pleasure to work with Don in Masonic organizations for nearly 25 years. We especially worked together in the musical life of the Des Moines Scottish Rite in the Double Eagle Chorus, and in the musical 22nd degree, Don was so reliable and enthusiastic -- always doing his best in whatever part he played. I also had the honor of placing the "White Cap" on his head when he was elevated to the 33rd degree of Masonry.
We will miss Don greatly, and even though we feel the void of his passing, his smile, his steady handshake, and his sense of friendship will remain in our hearts, and serve as examples for all of us to follow. Rest in Peace Brother Don.

I am so sorry for your loss of Donnie. i have fond memiries of him in our band, "Diamond Back" from the early 1970's. Donnie was one heck of a guitar player even back then! Donnie was also a classmate. His Dad, Vern was the one that picked me up and dropped us off at dear old North High. Ran into him a few years back was great to catch up with him. Prayers of peace to your family. RIP Donnie

Donnie, you were always happy. Just like your Dad, you made me laugh. Nana and Grandpa were so excited to have their first grandchild. They loved you so much.
Uncle Carl and I loved you so much too. I remember when you were little and your Dad and Uncle Carl returned home from hunting. You ran to their car saying, "Carlio, let me see the squirrelios."
I am really going to miss you stopping over and visiting with me. Love you bunches! Aunt Lila

My sincerest condolences to Don's family. He was an outstanding individual and someone who I was proud to call a "brother". He was always kind, compassionate, and caring to everyone. Don was an outstanding ritualist. When he gave his lectures, it came from the heart. He will be greatly missed by so many. Rest well my brother, until we shall meet again.

As Donnie's (Don's) cousin, I have wonderful memories of playing with him and all our cousins at Nana's house. Donnie was the oldest cousin and had a great sense of humor. There was always a lot of laughter. When I spent time with Donnie when we became adults, I realized that he was living up to the legacy of his namesake, our Grandpa Don Jones. The legacy was generosity and compassion for others. Examples of this were when Donnie told me that he enjoyed working most holidays because it allowed other employees to be home with their families. Perhaps the greatest example of the generosity legacy was His life passion of pariticipating in charity events through Shriners. He saw first hand how the work helped others and he found great joy in that legacy of generosity. I will miss you Donnie. Your life on earth was too short.
