Ernest E. Green

Ernest Eugene Green, age 72, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Ernie was born September 24, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to Bernard and Alice (Garrett) Green. He was employed by Iowa Beer and Liquor. He then went to work for Captain Jack’s Tree Farm as a Plant Manager, from where he retired. Ernie retired from the National Guard after serving for 25 years. He attended Norwalk Christian Church for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Louise Green; children, Michael (Charlotte) Green, Robert (Ingrid) Green, Lori (Robert) Bennett, Annalee (Eric) Johnson, Dante Green, Austin Green, and Nicholas Green; grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsey, Brooklyn Little, Bryce Green, Brydgett Green, Maxwell Bennett, and Rodney “RC” Craig Johnson; siblings, Roger (Maria) Green and Lois (Jim) Monahan; and a host of other family and friends.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Alice Green; and his siblings, David Green and Roberta Graham.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Ernie.

The things that Ernie and I have done in our youth. Some of them still makes me laugh, when I think about them. I will never forget him. I am so grateful for the times that we had together. May you also remember the good times and cherish them always. Maria and I will miss him and our trips to Des Moines will not be the same. Our hearts are with you at this time. God bless you.

I have no words to ease the pain, only tears to cry with you, a heart that breaks with yours and the knowledge our Ernie is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. Allow us to be there for you.
